October 2015

posted Oct 23, 2015, 5:45 AM by Simon Lewis

In Educate Together schools we like to learn about the different festivals that appear throughout the year. Each month, in our school, we focus on a different belief system. We learn what different people celebrate. It’s become a tradition at the end of our first term to have an Autumn Festival to celebrate the various festivals that happen around the end of October. While most of the children are aware of Halloween, we also try to tell them a little bit about other festivals around this time of year. I hope you enjoyed the day and a big thanks to all the parents who came along to the day. We’ll be posting lots of photos on our blog and Facebook page. Until next month, have a great mid-term break and and keep happy, safe and learning!

This month's maths puzzle!

Two old friends, Jack and Bill, meet after a long time.

Three kids
Jack: Hey, how are you man?
Bill: Not bad, got married and I have three kids now.
Jack: That’s awesome. How old are they?
Bill: The product of their ages is 72 and the sum of their ages is the same as your birth date.
Jack: Cool… But I still don’t know.
Bill: My eldest kid just started taking piano lessons.
Jack: Oh now I get it.

How old are Bill’s kids?
