November 2015

It’s beginning...

To look a lot like Christmas and in Carlow Educate Together, we’ll be learning all about Christmas and other Christian festivals in December. As well as that, we’ll be looking at other festivals that take place at this time of year such as Chanukah, Yule and Kwanzaa. We’ll be having our annual winter concert on the 17th and we’re delighted that thanks to the great fundraising efforts, we have been able to buy a really good sound system so you’ll be able to hear your children even better! We are also close to borrowing a stage for the show too and hopefully in the next year or two, we’ll be able to have one of our own. November was a busy month in the school and above is a photograph of our 5th and 6th class with the cast of Aunty Ben, the first ever Irish children’s play focusing on LGBT issues. We were delighted to have been one of the two primary schools represented at the show and the children had a great time exploring the set and speaking to the actors. There’s plenty more news to share in our newsletter so until next month, keep happy, safe and learning!

Maths Puzzle of the month:

After the twelve days of Christmas are over, how many presents has my true love sent me altogether according to the song?
