November 2014

posted Nov 28, 2014, 12:58 PM by Simon Lewis

It’s unavoidable and it’s everywhere, with December beginning next week, Christmas will be all around us. While, for most people in our school, it’s a very exciting, happy and joyful experience, for others Christmas can be a very stressful and sometimes difficult time of the year. There are others in our school who do not celebrate Christmas and we must ensure that no one is made to feel like an outsider during this time. As we approach the season, at our school, please remember that December is always a very busy and emotional time for families. As many of you will be familiar, at our school we celebrate the many belief systems out there so your children will no doubt come home speaking about Yule, Kwanzaa, Chanukah (and maybe even Festivus J) as well as Christmas. We will be kicking off celebrations tomorrow with a craft fair on Dublin Street and we would encourage you all to go along to check out the beautiful crafts on offer. We will also be holding a winter concert on Thursday, 18th December and free tickets will be distributed next week along with further information. Finally, keep an eye out this evening for the Late Late Toy Show as you might spot Hannah in 2nd class opening the show with her dance group!

Until the next newsletter, keep happy, safe and learning
