February 2016

February has been a very busy month in Carlow Educate Together. This year’s Friendship Week was a massive success with loads of fun activities throughout the week. Our Parents’ Association made pancakes for everyone, the teachers swapped classes with each other and the children buddied up with other classes for fun activities. There’s loads of news from Friendship Week near the end of the newsletter and on our school web site and Facebook Page. A big thanks, as usual, to Clare for coordinating the week. We’re looking forward to a number of events in the next month: on February 26th, we’ll be getting our assessment for a Green Flag. Adrian and his Green School team have been working hard all year helping us to reduce litter. On Monday, 29th February, we’re having Multicultural Day and we’d love to see as many of you in school to celebrate. In March we’re looking forward to raising the Irish flag as part of the commemorations of 1916. We’ll also be celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge before the spring break. We’ll be having our Fashion Show on the 9th March and  3rd to 6th class will be taking part in the Peace Proms on the 6th March. This year Easter is very early so we’ll be finishing up on the 16th March for 2 and half weeks. It’s going to be a busy few weeks in school! Until next month, keep happy, safe and learning.
