Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!
And Welcome to Ms. Fisher's Wonderful World of Mathematics!

I'm excited to start this year, meet all my students, and find new and exciting ways to explore the learning of mathematics. I know this is not everyone's favorite subject, but I am hoping we can find a way to make it more enjoyable for each of you, as you develop your skills in the most important part, problem solving. And for those of you who do enjoy mathematics, my hope is to find ways to challenge you, so that you continue to find that enjoyment. Math truly is a thing of beauty!

Please join me this year with an open mind and a willingness to learn in new and different ways. I promise I will do my part to try to make it as interesting and rewarding as I can. I truly believe learning should make you feel good. I promise I will do my best.

A little bit about me:

This will be my second year here at Canby, and my 18th year in education. Most of that time was spent as a High School Math Teacher, although I did spend 5 years as Director of Finance & Operations of my old high school district in California. Prior to that I spent about a decade as a Design Engineer for computer heads and another decade as a stay-at-home mom. My undergraduate degrees are in math and physics and my masters is in teaching. I think all of these experiences help me share my love of mathematics and encourage life long learning with my students.
