Conference venue and accommodation

For its 37th annual conference in 2012 the British Association for Canadian Studies is returning to Murray Edwards College, Cambridge.

Accommodation at Murray Edwards College (Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 0DF) is mainly in single study bedrooms; both ensuite rooms, with private facilities, and rooms with shared bathrooms are available, and there will be a limited number of twin-bedded, ensuite rooms. All rooms offer tea and coffee-making trays, pay-as-you-go high-speed broadband and a direct-dial telephone (cards available from the porter) and are within a moments' walk of the conference sessions. Conference accommodation should be booked through the BACS office (a registration form will be available on this page in December 2011). Links from this site to the College are for information only, and should not be used for making bookings. Please note that there are no computer terminals in College for delegate use.

There is limited availability on the nights of 1 and 4 April - please check with the BACS office (bacs@canadian-studies.org) before booking. We regret that there are no rooms available after  4 April as the College is then closed for Easter.

Formerly New Hall, Murray Edwards College was founded in 1954 and is now a Grade II listed building; it has an extensive private collection of art and sculpture by women artists and is set in its own pleasant, mature gardens. The City Centre is a 10-minute walk.
