Mr. Carmichael graduated from Liberty University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Instrumental Music Education. He is a native of Campbell County and a graduate of Rustburg High School. He has experience working with various elementary, middle and high school music programs in the area. Through this, he has found that his true passion is teaching elementary school music and is excited to work the students of LRES and TES! In his free time, Mr. Carmichael enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, and spending time with his wife and son. He also plays with the praise band at Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Watson has been teaching elementary music for several years (the exact number is confidential information so that way you won't know how old she is!) and she loves it!  She graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelors of Arts in Music, Magna Cum Laude and has continued her education at various classes and workshops.  She was fortunate to have Mrs. Harkrader as a student teacher and was thrilled when she got the opportunity to come back to LRES and teach with her.  Mrs. Watson is happily married to her husband and they have two sons (with big appetites!). Mrs. Watson rings in Bells of the Blue Ridge (with Mr. Marks & Mrs. Harkrader) and directs the choirs at Rustburg UMC.  She enjoys running, reading and catching up on her never-ending "to do" list.
