 Mrs. Alderman is a graduate of Longwood and Averett University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This is Mrs. Alderman's 28th year of teaching and 25 of the years have been at Leesville Road Elementary School. Her first teaching job was in Lynchburg City Schools where she taught first grade at RS Payne Elementary School.   She enjoys building relationships with students and seeing them progress throughout the year. Her belief is that all students can be successful and her goal is to work hard to help all children reach their full potential. She is very happily married to the love of her life, Kevin Alderman, and they have been blessed with four amazing children.  In her spare time, Mrs. Alderman enjoys camping, gardening, crafting, boating, going to the lake, and spending time with her family.

Mr. Smith was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. His wife Kellie is a stay at home mom. He has four children Ciara (15), Brennan (10), Jason (4) and Nico (2). He has one younger brother who lives in Atlanta. Chris went to Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg from 1st to 12th grade.  Then he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Bridgewater College.  Chris has 14 years teaching experience; 8 years teaching 2nd and 4th grades at Lynchburg City Schools,1 year teaching 5th grade at Leesville Road Elementary, and 5 years teaching 4th grade at Leesville Road.  He has two part time jobs: assistant coach for varsity girls basketball at Liberty High School and pool maintenance for Pool Foolin' in the summer.  In his free time Chris enjoyexercising, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
