Mrs. Bright is a graduate of Longwood University, with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Lynchburg and had worked at Lynchburg City Schools for seven and a half years prior to transferring to Leesville Road. She loves working with students to build a passion for learning through hands-on, engaging activities, and enjoys forming new relationships with students and their families. Mrs. Bright enjoys spending time with her husband (Tom) and two children (Tommy and Rylan), being with her huge family, going to the beach, and kayaking. She also loves her Boston Terrier puppy, Bauer, very much. Mrs. Bright is truly looking forward to the opportunity to join the Leesville Road community this year not only as a teacher, but also as a parent.

Mrs. Goetz is a graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary and Special Education. This is Mrs. Goetz’s 7th year of teaching. She has previously taught 4th grade and special education in Starkville, Mississippi and for Lynchburg City Schools. She loves teaching students through engaging, hands on lessons and shares her passion for reading with her students. Mrs. Goetz loves spending time with her husband, Dan, and their two sweet little girls, Paisley and Kenzie. On the weekends you can find her reading, traveling back to Pennsylvania to visit family, or in her garden.

Mrs. Marsh graduated from James Madison University with a master's degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Marsh considers herself a lifelong learner, and promotes this lifestyle in each of her students. She initiates this eagerness to learn through STEM activities in her classroom, as well as fostering an enthusiasm for reading. She spends a lot of her time at home playing with her dog Molly. She enjoys running with her dog, kayaking on the James, and cooking meals from her garden. In her spare time Mrs. Marsh loves to travel. She is lucky to have family spread out across America!

Mrs. Patterson is a graduate of Longwood University, with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Forest, VA and graduated from Jefferson Forest High School. She truly believes that every child can learn and centers her classroom around meaningful and engaging instruction that meets the diverse needs of her students. She enjoys building relationships with each of her students and loves watching them grow into successful learners and citizens. Outside of teaching, she spends her time with her husband, Brandon and their two sons, Hunter and Weston.

Mrs. Taylor
received her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and her master's degree from Radford University. She is a National Board certified teacher. She was the 2010 Montgomery County Teacher of the Year and the 2011 Virginia Region VI Teacher of the Year. She won the 2011 McGlothlin Award for Teaching Excellence and traveled to the Galapagos Islands as part of that award. Mrs. Taylor enjoys creating learning experiences that excite students and make them eager to learn. You will often find students working in groups, designing experiments, reading with friends, or singing songs. Mrs. Taylor loves adventure. She and her husband got married while skydiving. She has two sons, Cole and Jack. This is Mrs. Taylor's thirteenth year of teaching.
