  • Expository Essay
All classes are beginning instruction on writing an expository essay.   An expository essay  is writing that answers a prompt by  giving information and is developed by explaining with specific details and examples.
Currently, we are learning the format for writing a thesis statement and the importance of the thesis for the entire essay.
Students should write a thesis statement using the following format:
Thesis statement =  topic statement + because+ 2 or 3 reasons that make sense

Students will begin to have homework assignments related to the writing process.  We will begin our first prompt next week.
