Athletics

Outdoor Track and Field will begin Monday, February 19. Conditioning for outdoor track will begin Tuesday, February 5.

Reminder for National Honor Society applicants: Application help is available on Tuesday, January 30th and Thursday, February 1st. See Mrs. Kramer to sign up. Applications are due on February 7 by 3 pm.

Students and staff: Today is the last day to turn in toiletry items to Mrs. Cooter for the Red Cross Club to send to our troops overseas! Remember, the student who brings in the most individual items wins a $25 gift card to Chick-fil-a. The winner will be announced tomorrow! See Mrs. Cooter with any questions.

Red Cross Club members: TONIGHT is the packing party from 7-9 in Mrs. Cooter's room. We will be watching Moana and enjoying some free food all while packing up the toiletry items collected over the past week. Let Mrs. Cooter know if you can make it or not!

Latin Club will be selling carnations from February 1-13 for $1.25 per flower!!! Stop by a table in the mornings in the front lobby or by Ms. Heagy’s room or at all three lunches. NEW this year is a CANDY ARRANGEMENT RAFFLE!!!! Each recipient is entered to win a Valentine’s candy arrangement for every flower they receive. Show someone you care!!

General

Any junior interested in making decisions for prom needs to come to the meeting. We will be choosing colors, theme, song and discussing decorations. Please come to Mrs. Tate's room (509) January 31 at 3:00. If you are unable to attend please come and talk to Mrs. Ewers or Mrs. Tate 

The Sadie Hawkins’s Dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at the Brookville Ruritan Club from 7 – 10 p.m. Tickets will be $10.00 in advance and will be sold during lunches the week of Feb. 5 – 9. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $12.00. All students attending the dance must be in high school. Join us for an evening of fun with food, music, and a photo area.

During the pep rally on Friday there will be a half court shooting contest. If you would like to get a shot at winning it, buy your tickets during all three lunches Wednesday and Thursday this week. The cost is one dollar for one shot. Only 50 tickets are being sold, there is a cash prize for the winner, get yours as soon as possible.

The Art and Carpentry Departments have been working together on a LIFE-SIZE Connect Four game for all BHS students to enjoy. You can play the game with a friend, "connect" with someone you may not know, or make teams of 2! It will be available for use in the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch.

Come join your classmates and participate in the half-court shot shooting contest this Friday during the pep rally!! $1 to participate. Tickets sold at lunches Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or you can see Mrs. Davis during the day. Cash prize available for the winner!

Last day to turn in items is Wednesday, the 31st!

Bible Club meets every Tuesday in Mr. Scott's room, 219, and everyone is welcome! Meetings will start at 7:40, so please come and be on time!

Key Club will meet Tuesday afternoon in the library. All members should plan to attend.

The library will be closed to all students on Wednesday, Jan. 24th. Students assigned to the library should report to the guidance office.

JV Boys Basketball players should go home after school today. The game against EC Glass has been cancelled tonight. Varsity Boys will practice in the old gym from 3pm to 530.

Girls basketball game is also cancelled. Both J.V. and Varsity girls will practice right after school in new gym.

Attention Forensics and Debate team members! We will have 2 practices coming up before our competition next week. The first is this Thursday from 3-4pm and then next Monday from 3-4pm. Please make arrangements to attend one or both of these practices. If you CANNOT attend the Thursday practice, please see Mr. Markey as soon as possible to submit registration information for next week's competition. Attention ALL students! We are still accepting team members for the Forensics team and Debate team, so if you are interested or would like more information, see Mr. Markey in room 316.
