Meet Our Team

Ms. Ginther - She has taught 5th grade in Campbell County since 1998. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from California State University, Fullerton. She  received her Masters in Education in 2003 from the University of Virginia.  She enjoys spending time with her son and traveling.

Mr. Cairns - He has lived in South Carolina after moving from Ireland as a young boy. During his time in the Army he was stationed in Alaska, Germany, Tennessee and Texas. He received both his Bachelors in Elementary Education and Masters in the Art of Teaching from Liberty University after retirement from the military. He is married to Whitney and is expecting twins in the next few months. 

Ms. Herrmann -  She has lived in the Campbell County / Pittsylvania County area her whole life except while serving in the U.S. Navy.  During her time in the Navy, Ms. Herrmann was stationed in Chicago, Virginia Beach, and San Diego.  Since graduating with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University, Ms. Herrmann has been teaching 5th grade.

Upcoming Grade-Level Events

  • September 2017
    Turn in Box Tops and Coke tops -
    The first collection of Boxtops is next Friday, September 1.  The top class will receive an ice cream treat.

    Tuesday, September 29th - MAP testing

    No school Monday, September 4th

    2 hour early dismissal Friday, September 15th

    Week of September 25th - Campbell County Writing Assessment 1 (Personal Narrative)


    PTA Membership
    PTA Membership forms were sent home, please fill them out and send them back

    Costume Sale
    Costumes will be on sale during our first parent/teacher conference night.

    Mum Fundraiser 
    Mums are $5 each and pickup will be on September 13 at Dodd's Farm Supply.

    FunQuest Fundraiser
    We will have a FunQuest Fundraiser on October 6.  Purchase tickets for $5 for an evening of skating.

    Fall Festival
    The festival will go from 4:30-6:30, followed by a costume party/dance in the gym until 8:00 on October 21.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the festival part of the evening.

    Artome Art Show
    This event will take place on November 29.  Each student will create a piece of artwork during library.  These pieces of art will be matted and placed in a 16X20 (waiting for clarification) frame.  The pieces of art will be on display and sold for $30.  The community will be invited to attend.

    Choose a session to attend to meet your new teacher!

    Session 1 - 1:15 to 1:45 pm
    Session 2 - 2:00 to 2:30 pm
    Session 3 - 2:45 to 3:15 pm
    Session 4 - 5:15 to 5:45 pm
    Session 5 - 6:00 to 6:30 pm
    Session 6 - 6:45 to 7:15 pm

    Feel free to bring in your school supplies on Back to School Day so you will not have to carry them on the bus!
