Topic 8: Surface & Volume
Altitude: the right angle distance from base to base, or from base to vertex (commonly confused with height)
Base: a key side or face used in measurement. For Triangles and Parallelograms: any designated side with a given altitude. For Trapezoids: either of the parallel sides. For Solids: the face used to name the shape.
Cone: a pyramid with a circle base
Cylinder: a prism with a circle base
Face: a polygon surface of a solid
Height: the tallness of a shape, but you probably wanted to use the altitude
Plane Shape: a shape that fits on a plane, a 2-D shape
Solid: a shape in space, a 3-D shape
Sphere: all points in space a given distance from the center point
