Caldwell County School's homepage

Thank you for visiting our school.  I am very honored this year to return to where I started my career in Caldwell County Schools over a decade ago, and I am looking forward to having another exciting and successful year at SCHS.  Many things have changed since I have been involved in the high school curriculum, but I am looking forward to becoming knowledgeable about those and to playing a role in leading all of our students to be successful.  I have several different responsibilities I will be taking care of this year including evaluations, discipline, and overall the facility itself which is the largest in the county school system.

As for a little about me I am a father of a 16 year old named Loree, she is currently a Junior and doing very well in school.  My son Ryan, is 13 in 8th grade and again I am very proud of how he is doing in school.  As for my background, I grew up in Cherryville, NC, where I graduated high school in a class of only 94 students.  Later, I attended Lenoir-Rhyne College (now a university) where I received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration.  From there I worked as a counselor and teacher while attending Belmont-Abby College where I received my M.Ed. in Math.  Upon graduation from "The Abby" I took a leave-of-absence from my teaching position and moved to Appalachian State University where I worked as an adjunct professor while working on my doctorate.  I received my Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from ASU in 2003.
