 Oxford Art Online    

(Source type: Reference) Encyclopedia-type of info, but a little more in-depth.  A very good place to start.  Includes the full text entries of the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics

 Britannica

(Source type: Reference) Background and biographical information; entries are often short, however this is a good starting place for you research.

Biography in Context    

Biographical information.  Also provides links to popular (news, reviews, etc.) and scholarly articles.  Includes information on many well-known people, not just artists.                                                                


Finding Print Reference Materials in the Library
Go to the Advanced Search area of the CalArts Classic Library Catalog
In the "Location" drop down menu, select "Reference".  This will only search the area of the library that has reference materials.
