Astra Room Scheduler FAQs

posted Jun 13, 2012, 12:14 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Mar 6, 2015, 2:33 PM by Kyle McCarthy ]

Cabrillo utilizes a web application known as Astra for room scheduling, please follow the link below to look up any room and/or scheduling information https://astra.cabrillo.edu/AstraProd/

Open Training Hours

There are open training hours available for anyone who would like to come learn about Astra. On Tuesdays 2-3pm and Wednesdays 9:30-10:30am, IT will be available in the TLC meeting room (Rm 1096) to answer any questions regarding Astra.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why don't I see _______ when I go to Astra?
Make sure you've logged into Astra first before going to any other areas in the system. As the "Introduction to Astra" video clip explains, Cabrillo staff/faculty members have access to more areas than are available to the public. If you see "guest" in the top right corner of the screen, press the "logout" button next to it to return to the home page and log in as yourself.

What is my username/password for Astra?
Your Astra username and password is the same as your Network login.  It will be the same login that you would use to access an on-campus computer or your Cabrillo email. If you have any login issues, please contact the Cabrillo IT Helpdesk at x6392 or it-trackit@cabrillo.edu.

How can I get to Astra?
You can find Astra by clicking on the "Astra Room Scheduler" link on the Faculty/Staff page or by going to this url: https://astra.cabrillo.edu/AstraProd/

How can I view what is scheduled/availability of a certain room or building?
As a staff/faculty member, you should have access to an Availability Calendar and Scheduling Calendar in Astra once you've logged in to Astra. In the Availability Calendar, you can use the "Calendar Search" button on the left to filter/search for information.  In the Scheduling Calendar, you would use the "Edit Search Filter" button on the right to filter/search. The recorded training videos above cover both calendars and how to filter.

How can I request an event?
There is a helpful step-by-step pdf guide to requesting an event linked below called "Astra Event Request Instructions." Be sure to have logged into Astra before attempting to request an event, as external requests are handled separately from internal ones.  You can get to the Event Request area by clicking the Events tab. Once there, select the Event Request form for the division you are in and fill out the form.  That division will be able to process your request and check room availability.
