Head Coach - 8th Season
Adam Gilbert '06
Coach Gilbert is entering his eighth season at the helm of the girls basketball program. Coach Gilbert graduated from Parry McCluer High School in 2006.  In the last three seasons coach Gilbert has guided the girls' basketball team to 73 wins, two final four appearance in group 1A (the first appearance in the final four since 1978), 1 Group 1A State Championship (first in school history), 3 pioneer district championships, a pioneer district tournament championship, a conference 44 championship and 2 Western Gate Conference 45 championships.  Coach Gilbert has guided his teams to a total of 110 wins in seven seasons.  He has been named the Pioneer district coach of the year in 2015, 2016, and 2017.  He was also named the conference 44 (2015) and Western Gate Conference 45 Coach of the year (2016 & 2017).  He was named the VHSL Group 1A Coach of the year in 2017 and the VHSCA Group 1A Coach of the year in 2017. In his four years at PMHS he participated in Football, Golf, Baseball, and Basketball. He played basketball for four seasons under the veteran coach Nelson Fox.  He graduated as Parry McCluer's all-time leading scorer with 1,401 career points and all-time assist leader with 469 career assist.  In his four seasons the Blues won a total of 76 games while losing just 30 games a .716 winning percentage.  Coach Gilbert played his collegiate ball at Division III Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Guilford made it's first elite 8 appearance in the Division III NCAA tournament, in his rookie season with a 24-5 record.  Coach Gilbert graduated from Guilford College in 2010 earning his degree in Sports Management with minors in Psychology, Human Resource Management, and Business.  He earned his Master's degree in Education from Liberty University.   Gilbert is currently a Special Education teacher at Mountain View Elementary School.  Gilbert is the son of Ray and Debbie Gilbert.

Assistant Coach- 11th Season
Katelin Gilbert '06
Coach Gilbert is entering her eleventh year of coaching in the girls basketball program.  She will be stepping back into a familiar role for the 2017-2018 season as the head junior varsity coach. She served as the junior varsity head coach for three seasons before becoming the Varsity Assistant Coach in the 2010-2011 season.  Coach Gilbert will have split duties this season, as she will also continue assist with the varsity team as well. Coach Gilbert has helped guide the varisty teams to 110 wins in the past seven seasons.  She helped guide the 2016-2017 team to the schools first group 1A state championship with a 29-2 overall record. Coach Gilbert graduated from Parry McCluer High School in 2006. During her time at PMHS she excelled in Volleyball, Basketball, and Tennis.  She helped the Volleyball team make two appearances in the VHSL State Tournament (2003 & 2005) losing to the eventual Single A state champions each time.  She earned 1st team all-pioneer district honors for Volleyball and Basketball in the 2005-2006 season.  After she graduated Parry Mccluer she attended James Madison University in Harrisionburg, Virginia.  She earned a degree in Accounting and graduated form JMU in 2011.  She currently works at Virginia Military Institute in the comptroller's office.  Coach Gilbert is the daughter of Pres and Sandra Manuel. 


Assistant Coach- 2nd Season
Conrad Patterson '12

We welcome coach Patterson back to the girls' basketball program this season. He brings great knowledge and understanding for the game of basketball to the program.  He played and learned the game of basketball under the veteran coach, Nelson Fox, for four seasons while at Parry McCluer.  In his senior season, he helped guide his team to the VHSL Group 1A State Tournament.  
    During his first season on staff, coach Patterson helped guide the team to a 29-2 record and the programs first state championship.  This year, coach Patterson will assist with both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.  Patterson is the son of Angie and Rad Patterson.
