CORI

All adult volunteers and paid staff of the Children's Theater Workshop (CTW) and Winnmere Family Theater (WFT) programs are required by Massachusetts state law (M.G.L. c. 6 § 172H) to have a criminal background check obtained through the Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) system prior to their engagement.

This includes for example:

  • All adult staff
  • Parent mentors, monitors or helpers
  • Concession, usher, and box office staff
  • Stage managers, Stage crew, and Booth operators
  • Adult actors that perform in CTW or WFT productions

Before a background check can be made, we must have your permission.  A form can be found by clicking here.  Download the form, complete at least the required fields, and give to our Director of Education, Rachel Fennell.  We can only accept hard copy with a 'wet signature'. We also need to verify your identity (e.g. Driver's License).

CORI information is confidential and is only handled according to our CORI policy found here. We also have approved Child Protection Policies located here. Please direct any questions or concerns to the President, Hugh Thompson Hugh@BurlingtonPlayers.com.
