A new XCO race course has been developed to take advantage of the facilities and layout of the Canmore Nordic Centre. This has resulted in a World Cup style course with shorter laps and more technical features. In addition, a new “Flow” Trail and a permanent over/under structure in the Stadium area are planned. This course will not only challenge riders, but will leave them with huge smiles on their face.

Casual untimed uphill climbs and timed joyous descents; all with spectators in the beer gardens gently encouraging you to ride faster.  How hard can that be? #thenewoldschool. Designed by Steedz Enduro Race Team and incorporating elements of the new XCO race course.

The Youth Trailblazer (XC) Race will be hosted by the Rundle Mountain Cycling Club and will take place on Sunday at the Canmore Nordic Centre.  Set primarily on super fun single track, this race will be perfect for the younger rider or an older rider newer to mountain biking. This race is open to youth racers (children under the age of 17 as of December 31, 2017).

The Alberta Bicycle Association has some excellent information regarding the Trailblazer series.  To be directed to their website, click here.  If you have any further questions regarding the Trailblazers race and whether it is a good fit for your child, you can contact Nancy Pollard (RMCC) at nancypollard23@gmail.com.
