About Us

Educating Children on the Palouse since 1998

Building Blocks has been implementing the program philosophy, that children learn through play, since it was established in 1998. A mother of two young children had a desire to provide a place where children could be children, while parents had piece of mind that their children were receiving the highest quality care and education. This desire still stands, with the current owner and operator, a mother of two young children, providing a place where children are children and a piece of mind for parents that their children are receiving the highest quality care and early education! We strive to be an extension of your family and are grateful to partner with you.

We are a nationally accredited center through NAC (formally NAEYC accredited) and participants in Washington State's Early Achievers, currently rated at a level 4. Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated professionals that have a passion for children. They consider it a privilege to partner with you during this critical time in your child’s development. All teachers are required to take 20 hours in continuing education. They are also required to keep current certifications in CPR, First Aid and Food Handlers.

Our center provides a curriculum designed to meet the social/emotional, cognitive and physical needs of all children and is planned according to the children's current interests.

We believe play is essential to a child’s growth and development.  Play is a child’s way of learning and exploring through his or her world.Through play, children learn skills in: cooperation, problem solving, negotiation, cause and effect, mathematics and broader vocabulary skills. Children learn best through their social relationships with their peers.

We have programs for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years old.  Our spacious facility has seven bright and sunny classrooms with direct access to our fenced playground.  Our hours of operation are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and we are open year round.
