The Lewisburg Community Garden is a joint project between Bucknell University and the Borough of Lewisburg.  The project was born out of the Whitehouse Interfaith and Community Service Initiative.  We broke ground on April 6, 2012.  Because of the generosity of the Borough of Lewisburg, the garden will be using the parcel of land located on the Southeast corner of the North Water Street and St. Anthony's Street Intersection.

The Goals of the Garden are:
  • Increasing access to fresh, healthy, low-cost, locally grown food.
  • Educating students and community members about home gardening benefits and techniques.
  • Enhancing awareness of food insecurity and the need for nutritious options.
  • Creating cooperative, multi-generational learning opportunities between campus and local community.

We are looking for volunteers, both individuals and groups, who are interested in helping us this spring and summer.  To volunteer please click on the "Volunteer in the Garden" link to the left for more information.

We are also looking for sponsors.  The garden is interested in both monetary and material donations.  Items we are in need of currently are gardening hand tools, and materials to build a wormery.  If you are interested in donating to the garden, or have questions please contact the Kevin Zuidervliet at kz006@bucknell.edu or call 570-577-2212
