Very few people in life can say with complete honesty that they really enjoy what they do for a living - I am thankful to be one of them. I am an associate professor of mechanical engineering at Bucknell University where my focus is primarily on educating undergraduates. I enjoy interacting with my students, and I am glad that I'm at a place like Bucknell where my class sizes are small enough to do this.

Research is also an important part of what I do. At this point in my career, my primary research focus is in the design of compliant mechanisms. Check out some of the most recent publications. Another area that I have some active work in is the design of appropriate technologies for developing communities. Our current project is to provide sustainable eyecare solutions.
