Hye Young Kang 

I am a doctoral candidate of the Strategy & Innovation Department at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. Prior to this, I worked as consultant at Bain & Company and corporate and investment banker at government-led financial institutions in South Korea, such as Korea Development Bank and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. I hold MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and BA degree in English Literature and Language from Korea University.  

My research interests are at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on competitive dynamics. My dissertation has won several awards from prestigious entrepreneurship and strategic management organizations, including 2017 Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, 2017 Strategy Research Foundation Dissertation Research Grant, from the Strategic Management Society, and The Bent Dalum PhD Award, a prize given to the most promising research project at the 2016 DRUID Academy Conference.
