About the Google System

As part of the GAA National Strategic Vision and Action Plan 2009-2015, improving communication in the GAA with both internal and external audiences was identified as a key priority. In light of this, the Association announced a partnership with Google that will overhaul the way they operate in this crucial area. The new system will provide users with an email account that is much more user friendly then the current system and will allow for a far greater level of communication within the organisation. The new email system is powered by Google.

The new GAA email system is much more then just an email account, there are several other applications branded for the GAA.The applications are as follows:

Gmail

Allows you to use Google’s advanced email interface. Comes with a powerful spam filter and much more space then your old system, so you can keep all those important emails.

Sites

Google Sites is the easiest way to make information accessible to people who need quick, up-to-date access. People can work together on a Site to add file attachments, information from other Google applications (like Google Docs, Google Calendar, YouTube and Picasa), and new free-form content. Creating a site together is as easy as editing a document, and you always control who has access, whether it's just yourself, your team, or your whole organization.

 Calendar

Stay more organised in work – keep a calendar for yourself, share calendars with your colleagues, and subscribe to calendars to stay on touch of events and schedules in the GAA.

Docs

Create and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, and download them to your desktop applications. Great for collaborative projects as it allows colleagues to share and work on the same document.
