This Week's News

For the Week of January 29, 2018

Dear Irving Families,

As many of you know, I will be leaving Irving at the end of this school year and will begin working with Meadowlark Elementary during the 2018 - 2019 term.  After nine years of learning, growing, and enjoying our community, I will be saying goodbye to what I call my school family.

It was very humbling to be asked by Dr. Watson to move to a new school and take on a new opportunity.  I trust him and believe that this move is best for our district.  It will allow Irving to grow and evolve under new leadership. It will provide new opportunities for two amazing schools. Lastly, it will allow me to continue to grow as an educator and educational leader.

Although change is hard, I am excited for the next chapter of our school.  Irving is in a great place. With our amazing staff, exceptional kids, and wonderful families, I feel confident that your next administrator will be joining an amazing team.  He or she will be joining a place where everyone is dedicated to do what’s best for our children, and creativity is just as important as literacy.  We are strong and unified through our diversity.

This has been a very emotional time for me, our staff, our students, and many of you.  I am grateful to have had this time with such caring and loving people.  I am thankful to have Irving as my first home as a principal.  I am honored to have been a part of this truly special school and school community.

Thank You,

Adrian Advincula
