The BHS Writer's Handbook

This edition of the Writer's Handbook includes a section on APA (Section E) as well as several appendices, one of which includes twelve graphic organizers. If you see one that looks helpful, you can ask for a copy in the Writing Center.

Rather than distributing a copy of the handbook to every student, we've distributed classroom sets to every English classroom, though some fortunate students will receive their own copies at their teacher's request. We've also printed extra copies for any others wishing their own copy. You are also welcome to print whatever of the below sections you need, off-campus. Print and refer to the table of contents for help finding exactly what you need.

This year (2019 - 2020) marks the final year that every student, grades 9 - 12, attends BHS. Next fall, however, half of our students, faculty, and administration will set up shop at Gallatin High School. But, as you can see from its title, this handbook will take up residence there as well—at least until the English teachers at GHS decide how they want to approach their own handbook. Perhaps it will continue as a joint venture . . .
