The BSC Graduation Planning Committee is responsible for organising the BSC Graduation event on May 7th, 2019, where members will have the opportunity to celebrate graduation with their housing community. We are hiring for several positions:


The Graduation Planning Committee Chair

This individual is responsible for the overall planning of the BSC graduation and management of the committee members. Duties include, but not limited to:

-        Supervising the planning process and reviewing the committee’s progress

-        Delegating tasks

-        Setting deadlines and ensuring that they are met

-        Managing external communication with BSC members

-        Collaborating with BSC staff

-        Overseeing the execution the day of the event

-        Troubleshooting issues which may arise throughout the process up to the day of the event itself


Graduation Planning Committee Members

Each member of the committee will take the lead on planning a specific aspect of the event, such as food, entertainment, administrative duties, logistics, and alumni volunteer coordination. This includes, but is not limited to:

-        Booking and managing catering for the event

-        Researching, contacting and booking entertainment for the event

-        Creating marketing materials and outreach initiatives to advertise the event to the BSC membership

-        Recruiting and managing alumni volunteers

-        Organizing event logistics (speakers, furniture, set up, etc.)

-        Running the event on the day of


The Graduation Planning Committee reports to and collaborates with the Member Resources Supervisor.



REQUIREMENTS: high organisational skills, detail-oriented, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, able to work well under pressure, ability to work independently and as part of a team, event-planning experience preferred.


HOURS/PAY: GPC members and chair will be required to work up to 5 hours/week in preparation for the event, although more hours might be required the week preceding of the event. You will be compensated in rent credit at a rate of $15/hour.
