DUTIES: The Anti-Oppression Education Coordinator (AOEC) works to support BSC unit-level and central-level education designed to increases members' awareness and understanding of systems of oppression and related issues including, but not limited to: Anti-Blackness, Anti-Whiteness, Toxic Masculinity, Transphobia, Gender Discrimination, Ableism, Classism,  Islamophobia, Anti-Semitism and oppression based on legal status in the US. The AOEC works in conjunction with ETCom and the CXM to regularly evaluate these areas of focus and ensure they evolve and are consistently responsive to the current needs of BSC units and members. Additionally, the AOEC is also responsible for creating a feedback mechanism for individual workshops/facilitators to ensure the BSC is able to consistently improve the quality of facilitation and anti-oppression educational programming. The AOEC is responsible for building a list of and maintaining relationships with a variety of facilitators that provide expertise in a wide variety of key issues relevant to current members' needs with regard to anti-oppression education. The AOEC is also responsible for coordinating all workshops and facilitators for unit-level anti-oppression workshops.

REQUIREMENTS: 
The applicant should have excellent organizational, as well as strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. The applicant must be able to work independently and in collaboration with CXM, ETCom, and Presidents.  The successful applicant must be able to establish and maintain relationships with external entities on campus and in the broader community. They must be comfortable speaking in public and able to receive constructive feedback that they incorporate into programming. They must demonstrate a commitment to Anti-Oppression education. Previous facilitation experience is required. You cannot be on the Board of Directors or hold a compensated unit-level manager position and hold a central level job. You must be a current BSC member to hold this position.

HOURS/CREDIT:  
This position's hours vary each week, based anti-oppression workshop schedules and the on-going training/support needs of BSC houses and apartment complexes.  This position is compensated at the workshift rate of $14.00/hour for a maximum of 60 hours per semester.  This position is not available in Summer.  This position is eligible for work-study compensation.
