JOB DESCRIPTION: The chief responsibility of the AdCom Chair is to ensure that the decision-making processes of the Administrative Committee are fair, procedurally sound, efficient, sensitive to the member, and well documented. The AdCom Chair must train AdCom members each semester, make necessary preparations for each meeting and, attend, and facilitate all AdCom Screening, AdCom, and AdHoc meetings, and fulfill any AdCom-related responsibilities to the Board.  After each meeting the AdCom Chair must obtain and summarize meeting minutes, forward them to the Operations Manager, note any exceptions to policy needing Board approval, and make recommendations for policy changes when necessary. The AdCom Chair must attend portions of Board, Cabinet and IACom meetings, as needed. The AdCom Chair must also compile and publish an exit document, training materials, and maintain a database of AdCom case requests and decisions.


REQUIREMENTS: This job is open to co-op members only and we are looking for someone with demonstrable experience with meeting facilitation. This job requires a lot of patience and responsibility. You must be able to work with a diverse group of people. If necessary, you will be trained in meeting facilitation techniques and will need to familiarize yourself with the parliamentary procedures, by-laws, policies, and practices of the BSC. If hired in time, you will need to commit to attending the Fall Board training retreat. You may not be a member of the Board of Directors and hold a central level job.  
You cannot hold a compensated house-level position and this position concurrently. You must be a current BSC member and meet student eligibility guidelines to hold this position.


HOURS/PAY: 
This is a 5-hour/week position, compensated with a rent credit at $14.00/hour. Please note, this job does not fulfill the workshift requirement for residents at either the houses or apartments. If for whatever reason this job begins mid-semester, the stipend will be prorated.  This job is eligible for work-study compensation.
