Details:
Work times are in one-hour shifts starting at 8AM and ending at 4PM (so the last shift will be done by 5PM).
Wear your full Scout uniform (but no neckerchief) and meet by the Troop 98 tent at the back of the paved area (see the photo below). Scouts in uniform do not have to pay the entrance fee, but the rest of the family does, unless you're coming in to work with the Troop (tell them you're on staff with Scout Troop 98).
Make sure you sign in and sign out for your work time(s) in order to get service hours credit.
We will provide you with lunch but it's a good idea to bring money to spend on other concessions and the Wing Off Challenge.
Prepare for sun with sunscreen and a hat and BRING A REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE.
Why should you come and what will you be doing?
Come help us at this really fun fundraising event for Angel Flight East (which transports children in need to specialized hospitals and doctors for treatment). Wings 'N Wheels is a Vintage Aircraft and Antique Auto Show at Wings Field in Blue Bell.
Troop 98 will help set up the dining area and trash boxes, keep them clean during the day, help out with the inflatable rides, and help clean up/take down at the end of the day, and run the food concessions for everyone attending! We are also building and staffing a PIONEERING display with a Rope Bridge and our ferris wheel (as long as we can secure the right poles for it). Help us show off our Scout Pioneering skills!
When you are not helping Troop 98 during the hours you signed up for, you can enjoy all the activities taking place at the event. Bring your family!
So what can you and your family do at Wings N Wheels?
Check out lots of cool planes and antique cars.
Go for an airplane ride in a small plane around Blue Bell. It costs about $50 and lasts about 15 minutes (be sure to sign up early, because they sell out!). It's amazing what you can see when you're not too high in the air!
Check out the kids activities and displays.
Check out the Robotics displays and activities.
Buy tickets for hot wings then vote for your favorite in the "Wing-Off".
