Week of September 3rd - 6th

-Reading: Theme, Literary Elements: Plot, Setting, Characters

-Writing: Personal Narrative

-Grammar: Subject Verb Agreement, Compound Subjects and Predicates

-Spelling: Words with Short /i/ and Long /i/

Spelling Quizzes: Students will be given a spelling quiz every Thursday over that week's list of spelling words. A list of words for each week will be given to students at the beginning of each six week period. Please encourage your child to practice the words at least three times during the week as homework. Some fun ways to practice the words at home:

1. Have a sibling, parent, or friend call out the words to your child and your child spells them aloud.

2. Type the spelling words on computer

3. Use shaving cream to spell the words

4. Paint the spelling words on construction/manila paper

5. Use play-dough to make/spell the spelling words
