Bryan ISD is working towards a district goal of being an Exemplary district. In order to accomplish this goal, we are pleased that we will be able to offer the Flexible Year Program (FYP) as an opportunity for students.
As you are away, the Bryan ISD calendar has been approved with FYP days from January 3rd - 6th 2012 and from May 28th - June 1st, 2012. Students who have passing grades and have attended at least 90% of the school days, will NOT attend on these days.
Students needing additional support will attend school from January 3rd - 6th, 2012 and May 28th - June 1st, 2012. All school services will be provided to your child during this time (transportation, food, specials, etc.)
The reasons your child would be required to attend FYP are listed below.
--- Received 5 or more 1s on their report card (KINDERGARTEN ONLY)
--- Reading grade below a 75 (1st through 5th grade students)
--- Math grade below a 75 (1st through 5th grade students)
--- Writing (Language Arts) grade below a 75 (4th grade students ONLY)
--- Science grade below a 75 (5th grade students ONLY)
--- Has attended less than 90% of the school days (based on attendance committee recommendation).
A letter from your child's teacher was sent home a few weeks ago
letting you know IF you child needs to attend FYP and if they do, the reason
for that decision.
If you have any questions about your child's academic progress, then please contact your child's teacher. If you have any questions about FYP, please call the front office 979-209-2960.
