Jones Counselor

Welcome! This is my 3rd year as the School Counselor and my 6th year working at Jones Elementary. The Jones community and the Bryan community is my home and I am thankful to have the chance to watch all the students learn and grow year after year.

Please see the link below to learn more about me, my philosophy statement, and the ethical codes that I follow.

Comprehensive Guidance Program: It is the counselors role to work with school faculty and staff, students, parents and the community to plan, implement and evaluate a developmental guidance and counseling program. The program is designed to help develop students academic, career, social and personal abilities. To learn about the Texas comprehensive developmental guidance program and to see how Bryan ISD and Jones has aligned itself with this guide, please follow the link below.

Small Group CounselingThere are times throughout the school year when students will show a need for small group counseling for topics such as bullying, test anxiety and/or grief. Lunch Bunch groups are provided as a way for those students to meet with me without taking away classroom instructional time. For further information, please follow the link below.

Community Outreach Resources: It is important for counselors to work closely with parents and the community to help provide the best opportunities for students as possible. I have created a list of resources for parents and teachers to use when help is needed. The list consists of community outreach programs and career resources. Please follow the link below for further information.

Graduation Requirements and Career Information:Even in elementary, career development is an imperative part of the counseling program. Students need to have knowledge of the different career or technical options and begin exploring their interests and what pathway those interests will lead them. The guidance program implemented here at Jones focuses on students' exposure to the many career or technical options. Please see the link below for further information and for resources for parents and teacher to use to help further student career development.

Parent and Teacher Information: There are many hats that I wear at Jones. Two of those hats are the Round Table and the Section 504 Coordinator. If you feel that your student or child is in need of these services, please click the link below to learn more about them and how they can help.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am happy to speak with parents, guardians or communities members during school hours at 979.209.3904 or anytime through email at carly.delino@bryanisd.org.

Thank you,
Carly Delino
