American Chemical Society Project SEED Program
State of Rhode Island

ACS Project SEED is a national summer research internship program for high school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds (family income must be ≤ 200% the Federal poverty line guidelines). Participating students complete a summer research project in a college chemistry laboratory with close mentorship from faculty and students.

QUICK INFO
  • Projects last 8-10 weeks.
  • All participating students receive a $3,200 stipend.
  • Students develop laboratory and scientific communication skills, along with guidance on college and career paths.
  • At the conclusion, participants present their research projects at an ACS fall meeting

The participating Rhode Island institutions have been Brown University, Rhode Island College, Providence College, Bryant University, and the University of Rhode Island. Application and interest forms will come live later this spring (please stay tuned!). In addition, parents/guardians and teachers may nominate a student using the same link.
