American Chemical Society Project SEED Program
State of Rhode Island

ACS Project SEED is a national summer research internship program for high school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Participating students complete a summer research project in a college chemistry laboratory with close mentorship from faculty and graduate students.

  • Projects last 8-10 weeks.
  • All participating students receive a $2,500 stipend.
  • Students develop laboratory and scientific communication skills, along with guidance on college and career paths.
  • At the conclusion, participants present their research projects at an ACS fall meeting

The participating Rhode Island institutions are Brown University, Bryant University, Rhode Island College, and the University of Rhode Island. Interested students should apply at this link. In addition, parents/guardians and teachers may nominate a student using the same link. A representative from Rhode Island College, Bryant University, University of Rhode Island, or Brown University will be in contact.
