CIS strongly recommends using the web interface (http://gmail.com) to access all features of the new service. The web interface does not require installation (as long as you have a web browser), works across platforms, allows you to take advantage of the collaborative aspects of the tool, and is easier to troubleshoot.
In specific cases, you may need to configure a client for functionality such as mail merges. In most cases, connecting a client to GoogleApps involves configuring an IMAP connection to Google, replacing the Exchange settings you were previously using.
Locate your client application from the list to the right and click to find detailed instructions for configuring your settings to connect to your new account.
OUTLOOK Users - for additional functionality such as calendaring, instead of using an IMAP connection, try Google Apps Sync for Outlook (aka GASMO). This tool uses a MAPI plug-in for Outlook that is simple to install and provides faster performance and bi-directional synchronization between Outlook and GMail/GCal.
