  • Rural Fire Levy

    • Brookfield Rural Fire Brigade is one of two brigades for which the Brisbane City Council collects a Rural Fire Levy as a component of the Rates system. This is enabled under the QLD City of Brisbane Act 2010 Section 96 and the QLD Fire and Rescue Service Act 1990 section 128A
    • The current dollar amount of the levy is set each year in the council's budget, in the section "Resolution of Rates and Charges"

    • The Volunteer Community Educators from Brookfield are trained in a presentation to supplement Geography Unit Year 5: The impact of bushfires or floods on environments and communities, and how people can respond (ACHGK030)
