Art Hats with Creative Power!

posted Sep 8, 2016, 2:37 PM by Carol Grams
On their first day of Art, first graders are introduced (or re-introduced) to the lore of Artville by learning the names of the dragons, and a few other characters.   Pablo is the boy flying on the back of the dragon, Catmandu.  Pablo wanted to be an artist like his namesake, Pablo Picasso, but he was afraid to try.   So Catmandu made him a magical art hat, giving him special creative powers.  So we all made art hats!  Now everyone has creative power. Along the way, children learn how to make flat paper stand up into a three dimensional form.
