The Green Computing Project is a student led effort to reduce the environmental impact of public computer use at Brandeis University. By working closely with Library and Technology Services, Media Technology Service, and the various academic departments at Brandeis, our goal is to reduce the total uptime of public computing locations by a minimum of 40%.

This project began at the beginning of October, 2010, and is expected to make significant progress by the end of December. Our short term goal is to reduce the energy consumption of LTS and MTS operated clusters; our long-term goal is campus-wide.

This website is used by project members to discuss, plan, and document our progress. We will be providing public updates as we go along, so be sure to check in from time to time!
