MLK & Friends is a club that encourages MLK scholars and all university students to band together to educate the communities we live in and protect peoples' rights to live free and unoppressed. We organize community service and service learning events. We operate under the teachings of Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. and believe that students can truly influence the world for the better.
To create a strong Brandeis community based on the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will achieve this through:
Education on the principles and spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr. All of our activities on campus will be themed around the teachings
of Dr. King, specifically community service, social justice, education,
and equality. We will do that through service projects and presentations
focusing on teachings brought to us by Dr. King.
Outreach. The MLK club intends to facilitate community service projects
on campus and in the Greater Boston area, to cosponsor cultural events with
ICC clubs, and to encourage anyone and everyone at Brandeis to
participate. We would like to see cultural clubs and special interest
clubs working together. We will not limit our outreach to the campus,
but we will also collaborate with different organizations in Waltham and
the greater Boston area to create community based service projects.
