This is one of the most environmentally connected houses in Ozello Florida (Crystal River, FL).
My house, with 750 feet of natural shoreline, as seen from the south.
o My place is on Windmill Bay on the St. Martins River, Ozello, Crystal River.
o The six mile paved connection (West Ozello Trail) to US 98 traverses five miles of beautiful, protected coastal marsh.
o Five major grocery stores, Home Depot, restaurants, etc., are within ten miles.
o The Tampa Airport is 65 miles south, via Veteran's Parkway.
The Ozello Keys:
o Ozello is a rare remnant of old 'Cracker' Florida.
o This was the waterland area of Winslow Homer.
o We are surrounded by 100 square miles of wildlife refuge.
o Bird watching, fishing, sailing, bicycling, and snorkeling, are all close at hand.
o The area has an abundance of canoe and kayak trails.
o My property includes three lots, totaling three quarters of an acre.
o The three lots have a total of 365 feet of waterfront.
o The adjacent 600 feet to the west is protected and provides great views.
o My eastern lot can be split off and sold, or you can build a guest house on it. Given the high elevation, you can build at ground level - stilts are not required.
o My house straddles the middle and western lot.
o Vegetation is native live oaks, palmettos, and cedars.
o These are the highest elevation lots in Ozello - 9.5 ft above mean sea level.
o Every spot provides beautiful, tranquil, quiet views of water and nature.
o Includes a pre-Columbian Native American Indian oyster mound midden, built up over a thousand years. The mound is verified by an archeological survey.
o Property includes a springpond.
o The lots face the St. Martin River, near the 'Ozello Island School' (1880-1943) site. The school was featured in Ripley's Believe it or Not..
o It was built by the underboss of the Tampa Mafia, Frank Daddy Diecidue, who is featured in the book, "Cigar City Mafia."
o My house has “Cracker” charm. It is not a plain vanilla tract house.
o It is situated on a point, which gives nice breezes and views.
o Three sides of my house look out onto real water (not a canal).
o The fourth side faces into a native oak hammock.
o The house has 1844 sf air conditioned area, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
o The waterside 12x40 porch extends over the water, for a 270 degree water views.
o Thirteen sliding glass doors provide fantastic views. All have vertical blinds.
o The entire house is on one level. There are no inside steps or stairs.
o Either entrance requires only a single step.
o There are eight ceiling fans, plus electric central heat/air.
o Both bedrooms view both water and woods.
o The kitchen includes gas stove/oven, a disposal, and a Bosch dishwasher.
o The master bath includes a Jacuzzi.
o The utility area includes washer and dryer.
o The roof is a two year old galvanized steel (“Tin”) roof.
o Floors are ceramic tile, varnished hardwood, or carpet.
o There's a 250 square foot storage building; plus a single carport.
o This was the home of Phillis Milton, a well known local artist who created hundreds of paintings of the area's environment and culture.
o Furniture and furnishings are included.
o Included is a 40 ft dock.
o There is a boat ramp for an outboard, up to about 20 ft.
o Kayaks can be launched from the beach.
o The Gulf is 3 water miles; Homosassa River: 3 miles; and Crystal River: 5 miles

o I'll show my house by appointment to qualified buyers who seek an 'old Florida' environment, rather than in a standard tract house on a narrow standard lot.
