Causes of Stress

What causes stress?

Things that cause, such as situations or pressures, are known as stressors. Stress is anything that requires high demands or forces you to adjust to new situations. It does not have to be a negative situation, it may also be a positive situation such as going to college or making a huge change. Everyone has different stressors and people have different perceptions about what causes them stress. Below is a list of only some of the more common stressors. 

External Causes

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Constant loud noise
Internal Causes
  • Inability to accept uncertainty
