2015 Batavia Bulldogs

IHSA Playoffs (10-2)

You should be so proud of the incredible year you had! Thank You. Thank you all. I cannot adequately express the pride and strong emotions I feel every time I think about how lucky I am to coach young men in this community. Whenever I am at practice, a team event, a training session, a pre-game or game, see any of you in school, talk to a teacher, talk to a community member, talk to your parents or interact with anyone who knows anything about Bulldog Football I think about what great young people and student-athletes you are. You are all simply awesome. Being the coach of players and more importantly people like you is so fulfilling and fun, I often wonder what it would be like coaching anywhere else.  I am certain nothing like it is here. The team element that exists at Batavia is truly a unique one where everyone is going in the same direction and players assume whatever role or task is needed to get the job done. You do all this work and training and planning without ever losing your sense of fun or camaraderie and truly understand the fleeting nature of what it is you are doing.  Being a Batavia Bulldog Football player and coach is a special thing. You cared so much- not about just football but about decision making, serving others, being good students and being good people. I am always humbled by the team success- that is a simple by-product of your talent and all the work you do, but the decisions you make to represent the team and school with honor and dignity play a more important role in the success you will have in the future.  I continue to see themes that you have been taught and continue to teach- and they have made us a great program at BHS. As Seniors you set an example for all future classes to follow!

The theme of the season was SEIZE THE MOMENT and all of you did just that! I will never forget how truly excellent you became and how you built a special season out of promise and potential. Thank you CLASS of 2016- you continued a legacy of success that is unmatched in the history of Batavia High School!

Coach Piron

2013 Batavia Bulldogs
I can not begin to THANK all of the Bulldogs who supported the team this season! It was a special season- from off-season to summer to regular season to playoffs to DEKALB! There has been so many articles and accolades that have come our programs way and they are all well deserved and appreciated! This team will be remembered and honored for decades to come. When those occasions arise I am certain that many speeches will explain that the reasons for the success were rather simple. The players were talented, motivated and played for each other. Throughout the playoffs the goal of "one more week" expressed a sense of urgency and desire to keep this group together as long as they could. The magnificent 2013 season was encompassed in a short team slogan that expressed the Bulldog community that year! In 2013 the Batavia Bulldogs were definitely "ALL IN".  - FROM COACH PIRON

THANK YOU SENIORS-Class of 2017:

Thank you seniors! What an incredible career you had. Thank you for caring as much as you did about Bulldog Football and more importantly each other. Whenever I was asked about your group or your class this season or prior years I would always respond with “That group is really close, big-hearted, bright, hard-working and always improving.” What important themes all of those ideas represent- all much more important than scores or victories or championships.  You all represented what all coaches would hope the boys they coach eventually turn into- GOOD young men who will one day be great employees, husbands, fathers and mentors.  I have loved watching all of you grow up these past seasons and I can say with confidence you will have great opportunities in the future because of your focus and determination.  You cared so much.  You understood our traditions and embraced them. You kept the program moving in the right direction. You had a good time playing the game and being with your brothers- and that is special.

YOU STUCK TOGETHER

We dealt with all sorts of adversity -on many occasions- this season and in each and every case you handled it with maturity and unity.  If we were down, you did not panic. If we suffered defeat you did not dwell you moved on. If calls went against us or mistakes occurred, you made no excuses or placed no blame- you just kept working and improving.  You dealt so well with the pressure and expectations that this program has come to know and always answered the bell.  You carried on our programs traditions and believed.

YOU ALWAYS HELPED OTHERS

More than any program at the school our team is expected to help when we are called upon. Raise money, do heavy lifting, show up and support, mentor and teach, act as role models and do any sort of work- when asked you responded. I am so proud to continually be associated with such a good hearted and caring group of young men- and you represented the program exceptionally well! Thank you for your service to others. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

YOU CARED ABOUT THE CLASSROOM

Every one of you cared about the classroom and made it a point to do the best they could.  From number 1 ranked students, to an all-time high team GPA, to high enrollment in honors courses, you did not just get by- you EXCELLED! You will have years of future success in college due to the prioritization and effort you have put forth in high school. I again have so much to BRAG to our school district and other coaches about. Thank you for continuing our team tradition of academic excellence.

YOU IMPROVED GREATLY OVER THE YEARS

You got better each year- that is not an easy thing to do. Each year your record, quality of play, skill level, understanding of the game and toughness measurably was better. You did not assume anything and instead made sure that your work in preparation for the season was solid and improving by the season. The results meant you were a much better team and group of players when you finished than when you started. IMPROVEMENT is always the most important element any coach can hope for and IMPROVEMENT is determined by the group of boys going through the program. You “GOT IT” and “DID IT” and were not afraid to make commitments and sacrifices for the success of your team.  I am so honored to have coached all of you and hope you know how much I love and admire you and your efforts. Thank you for going out and truly making the effort to EARN VICTORY this past season.

HEAD COACH DENNIS J. PIRON JR.

THANK YOU CLASS OF 2017- I AM PROUD TO BE YOUR COACH

2014 Batavia Bulldogs
Never has a group of players had the pressure and expectations that our current team had- and they met that challenge- and delivered another special and memorable season!  I am so proud of our players and coaches and the incredible commitment and effort that is given daily, weekly, monthly- year round- to be the best that they can be. NO ONE should ever take for granted the level of play that our players are performing at as it is a result of hard work and belief in each other. I am personally grateful that my son was part of this special senior class- who most importantly conducted their lives away from football with great pride and an understanding that they represent more than just themselves.  I am so honored to be your coach and hope that I have represented you with the same class and pride that you players did. Keep your heads high, be proud- and most importantly  FINISH STRONG boys- FINISH STRONG  & ALWAYS REMEMBER-"WE ARE BULLDOGS- WE ARE ONE".  - FROM COACH PIRON
