Quizzes LTI
Canvas has a new quizzing engine, called the "Quizzes LTI", that is in an unfinished beta state. We've asked that it be activated in the district so that we can experiment with it.

Among its many new features is the reported ability to tie individual questions to outcomes, whereas currently only an entire Quiz can be tied to outcomes. If we can get that to work, it would help us with curricular assessments.

However, we have no idea when or if the Quizzes LTI will work with PaperScorer, and this is a new unfinished tool, so we’ll proceed cautiously.

Teachers may optionally choose to try it out with their classes, but should be aware that all of its features are not yet complete and it could have hiccups.

We have been told that Quizzes LTI will replace the existing "Quizzes" option in Canvas next academic year. We have also been told we will be given a way to import quizzes made with the older “Quizzes” tool into new courses, so we should not lose access to them.

So if you are feeling brave, you can experiment with this new Quizzes LTI, but use it at your own risk.

Accessing the new Quizzes LTI:

Once it is activated by Canvas, you will see a new “+ Quiz/Test” button when you go into Assignments in a Canvas course:

Quizzes LTI

You can click that button to invoke the new quiz engine. The existing Quizzes link in your Canvas courses is unchanged.
