The Bartlesville Regional Chamber of Commerce honored eight women in February 2017 for their contribution to local business during the Celebration of Women gala held at Hillcrest Country Club.

Tammie Krause, principal at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, received the Investing in Our Future award for making a positive impact on the leaders of tomorrow.

Through her leadership at Wilson, Krause has created a positive school climate where teachers want to teach and students want to learn.

Sherri Wilt, President of the Chamber of Commerce, said, "She is passionate about including character education in her school's daily curriculum. She inspired all her teachers to fully implement the Great Expectations program because of what it taught kids about respect for themselves and others. The teachers loved the program and were extremely supportive of her vision and thus they became the first school in Bartlesville to achieve Great Expectations Model School status."

Ms. Krause is in her ninth year of service as a BPSD Principal, and is in her seventh year of leading Wilson Elementary.
