The 2018 senior class of Bartlesville High School will be honored on May 25 in graduation ceremonies beginning at 8 p.m. at Custer Stadium.  Ms. LaDonna Chancellor, Bartlesville High School principal, said approximately 400 seniors are eligible to graduate.

Seniors are reminded that the group picture in caps and gowns has been scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on May 25.

In case of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be moved into the Bruin Field House. Advance notice, when feasible, will be given on the district and BHS websites and Facebook pages. Seating will also be available in the Fine Arts Center auditorium and the Commons area and will include a live big-screen showing of the ceremony. Each senior will receive five (5) tickets for seating in the Bruin Field House and three (3) tickets for seating in the FAC. Overflow seating is available in the Commons area and does not require a ticket. Tickets are given to each student when he or she picks up the cap and gown. Cap and gown distribution began May 10.

Graduation ceremonies will include speeches by the president of the student body, Chloe Maye, and the senior class president, Hannah Aldrich.  Members of the Bartlesville Public Schools administration and Board of Education will participate as well.

Ms. Chancellor advises parents and relatives to arrive early; gates will be open at 6:00 p.m. They may enter through the northwest and southeast entrances to the stadium. Ms. Chancellor reminds family members they are invited on the field to take pictures after the graduates have been formally dismissed.

Designated seating and parking for individuals with disabilities will be available by calling in advance. Seating will be limited to the individual(s) and one guest. A BHS parking permit will be required to enter the reserved parking. In case of inclement weather, seating for people with disabilities will on the floor of the Bruin Field House and will be for those needing seating only; tickets will be required. There will also be some seating for people with disabilities in the Fine Arts Center auditorium and in the Commons area. Tickets will also be required in the FAC but not in the Commons. To secure seating and a parking permit contact Ms. Amen at the high school, 918-336-3311, ext. 1051.

Seniors will also be honored following graduation with an all-night party held at Washington Park Mall. The Project Graduation chairperson says students can check in between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. with a driver’s license or photo ID. It lasts until 2:30 a.m. Only graduating seniors are eligible to attend this event. Parents of graduates work very hard to provide a fun evening that is also safe and substance-free and offers seniors the opportunity to celebrate such a special evening with their friends.

Please note that because of the April suspension of classes, seniors and other students will report back to finish out this year’s courses on Tuesday-Thursday, May 29-31.
