BHS newspaper students earn state recognition

Bartlesville High School's Journalism Department earned highest state honors once again on Monday, April 30 at a state conference in Norman. The Fourth Estate won its 37th All-Oklahoman for a print newspaper, while 4E Voices won its first-ever All-Oklahoman for a digital newspaper. Bartlesville High School Journalism instructor Darla Tresner serves as the advisor for both the printed and online newspapers.

 


The following students received awards in individual competitions:

  • Edward Reali, State Champion & 3rd in State in Sports Photography
  • Rachel Brown, State Champion in News Writing & 2nd in state in Online Feature Writing
  • Abby Turner, Second in state in Sports News
  • Hadley Davis, Second in state in Opinion Writing
  • Tanzim Vadsaria, Second in state in Feature Writing
  • Aleeyah Dean, Third in state in Feature Photography
  • Jacey Walls, Third in state in Feature Writing
  • Kaylee Cromwell, First Recipient of the Michael Cookson Award for Outstanding Writing in Medical Journalism
