Batman visits Ms. Lutke's class

Earlier in October, teacher Heather Lutke was reading A Halloween Scare in Oklahoma by Eric James to her first graders at Wayside. The book mentioned Bartlesville, which led the students to review maps of the state and learn about home addresses.

It seemed an opportune time for Ms. Lutke to introduce to her students how the U.S. Postal system worked. They decided they wanted to write a letter to Batman.

So imagine their delight when the Caped Crusader responded to their letter by showing up to read to the students and tell them about the postal service.

The students had chosen to put the Bat-Signal on the envelope of their letter, and Batman stressed to them the importance of knowing their home addresses but only sharing them with appropriate people, such as police officers and school officials.
