Joey Eidson - Principal

Personal:  Mr. Eidson graduated from Northeastern State University and has been in education for 18 years.  He has been an administrator at Madison Middle School for 11 years, 5 as the assistant principal and 6 as the principal. Prior to administration, he taught 8th grade English/Social Studies at Thoreau Demonstration Academy.  Mr. Eidson truly believes in the middle school concept.  He wants Madison to be a safe place, where students get connected and grow from small children to young adults.  He enjoys writing and recently authored the book Called to the Middle and plans to write more in the future.  Mr. Eidson and his wife Amanda have 2 children, Anna and Fletcher.  When there is spare time, he enjoys family time, church, and fishing.  For more information on Mr. Eidson, you may visit his website at www.joeyeidson.com.

Morgan Axsom - Assistant Principal


College:  Nyack Christian College (Associate's), Northeastern State University (Bachelor's), Oklahoma Wesleyan University (Master's)

Personal:  Mrs. Axsom grew up in Bixby, OK.  After high 
school, she attended Nyack Christian College and Northeastern State.  She also played softball in both high school and college.  She coached at the high school level for ten years. Mrs. Axsom completed her Masters of Educational Leadership degree in 2016 and was hired as MMS Assistant Principal in 2017.  Mrs. Axsom and her husband Lee have a wonderful daughter, Myla (5).

Lindsay Hammond - Counselor (7th Grade, 6th Grade Team 2)


College:  Pittsburgh State University (Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling), Licensed professional counselor, Nationally board certified counselor, Nationally certified in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral therapy)

Personal:  Mrs. Hammond has lived in Bartlesville for the last 6 years with her husband and 4 year old son.  When not in school she can be found spending time with her family, typically in the outdoors. They enjoy hiking and swimming as well as photography.  Most importantly she is an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan, Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Holly Martin - Counselor (8th Grade, 6th Grade Team 1)

Personal:  This is Mrs. Martin's fifth year to be a school counselor and she really enjoys working with the students and staff of Madison!  After teaching for 19 years (4 years in Ponca City and 15 in Broken Arrow) she decided to pursue counseling.  The main reason she and her husband chose Bartlesville is that their daughter, Emily Bussey, lives here with her family which includes 4 grandgirls—twin 3 year olds, a 6 year old and a 9 year old.  Her husband, Don, and her enjoy living in a smaller town again and being so close to family.  They also have 2 sons.  John lives in Springdale, AR with his wife and son, Andrew, who is 5.  Scott is single and lives in Tulsa.  When not at school, Mrs. Martin enjoys spending time with family and also reading, sewing, and cooking.  Sadly, Mrs. Martin has decided this will be her final year and plans on retiring after 24 years in education!

Personal:  Mrs. Johnson was born and raised in Bartlesville where she graduated from Sooner High School. After working in New York City for 10 years, she returned to the 'Ville, married (6th grade Science teacher) Rick, and raised their 3 daughters, Joya, Caly and Macy. Lisa has cherished being Madison’s registrar for over 15 years. She can also be seen at most BPS sports as an Athletics Event Manager. The Johnsons’ enjoy indulging in gourmet dining and spending time at exotic beach resorts.

Personal:  Ms. Smith grew up in Lakewood Colorado and later received her associate's degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She has 2 grown children and enjoys a number of hobbies in her spare time such as jewelry making, sewing, crafting, and taking walks. Some of her favorite things are being with friends and family as well as eating chocolate. She also enjoys watching Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy.
