Personal:  "I was born on a mountaintop in Tennessee. My earliest memories are bear hunting with my kinfolk. My service in Vietnam was cut short when I was dishonorably discharged for lying about my age (I was only 7). I met my wife, Sharon Jean, while we were both racing midget cars in Paducah, KY. We currently enjoy living in our houseboat on the Caney River with our two sets of quintuplets (what are the odds, right?) and a CRAZY assortment of rescue pets."

Personal:  Mr. Thurman is from Bartlesville where he went to school.  He and his wife, Christy, have two children: Addison (6), and Easton (3).

Lori Shelley - Math

Personal:  Mrs. Shelley has lived with her family in Bartlesville for 18 years.  She has a B.S. in math education and is a graduate of the University of Kansas.  She has taught various subjects in math at Ponca City Alternative Center and at Bartlesville Mid-High.  Mrs. Shelley and her husband, Adam, have three children: Emma is a junior at BHS, Maddie is an eighth grader at Madison, and Abby is a third grader at Wayside.  In her spare time, she likes to garden, sew, and exercise.

Chris Van Steenvoort - English/Language Arts

Personal:  Mrs. Van Steenvoort, otherwise known as Mrs. Van, grew up in Pierre, South Dakota, but has resided in Oklahoma for over 30 years.  Her family spent a year in Indonesia and a year in Houston, but they consider themselves Okies.  She has been teaching English for twenty years, eleven at Madison Middle School and nine at West Middle School in Ponca City.  She loves teaching, and her students steal her heart.  Mrs. Van likes camping with friends, quilting, and pink office supplies.  She is married to Alan and has two grown sons, Luke and Jake.  Alan and Chris now live with their unsophisticated but entertaining toy poodle!  In her free time she loves to swim in her backyard, quilt with friends, read/listen to books, and spend time with friends and family.  If you are looking for Mrs. Van, just search for the PINK!!
