Tentative schedule for 3/15-5/24

On March 12, 2018 the Bartlesville Board of Education will be asked to authorize the superintendent to suspend classes if a statewide school shutdown occurs over school funding.

If the suspension lasted up to five days, it would be treated locally for students as inclement weather days. Students would not have to make-up the lost instructional time via days added to the academic year after Memorial Day. That would allow final exams and commencement to proceed normally.

The high school, however, has a different schedule than the elementary or middle schools. The way the state counts instructional minutes would require the high school to extend its school day by 15 minutes from March 15 through May 24.

A tentative schedule has been released showing how three additional minutes would be added to periods 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 at BHS to make this plan work. This should not affect lunch periods, tutorial or advisor periods, nor transportation for students attending classes at Tri-County Tech. It will delay the start and end times for 7th period flex classes.
